Maltese finance minister Tonio Fenech said that Camper and Nicholsons Marina’s relocation to Malta complements the government’s 2015 vision, that of making of Malta a centre of excellence in tourism, investment and financial services. This view is shared by Mr.Maris:
"For yacht owners it is important that when they come to a marina it will be safe, they will be looked after, their guests won't complain. The prestige element is also important. One can say 'I have my boat at a good address'. This has a geographical connotation and an address connotation. Malta doesn't need any one small company. Malta can say: We attracted from London one of the most established yachting companies. This is a great credit to Malta."
